Rs. 1700 AI app saved this man over Rs. 1 Crore

A man's brother-in-law died.

The hospital then handed his family a bill of $1,95,000 — for just 4 hours of ICU care.

He used a ₹1,700/month AI subscription to bring it down to $33,000.

Here's the full story. 🧵

The brother-in-law had a heart attack.

His medical insurance had lapsed just two months before the incident — leaving his entire family responsible for a bill of nearly ₹1.6 Crore.

Four hours of intensive care.

₹1.6 Crore.

Let that sink in.

The man — posting as nthmonkey on Threads — felt something was deeply wrong with the bill.

So he did something most of us wouldn't think to do.

He opened Claude, an AI chatbot by Anthropic, and asked it to analyse every single charge.

What Claude found was shocking.

The hospital had billed the same procedure twice — once for the main operation and again for each individual component.

That single error inflated the bill by $1,00,000 alone.

It also found wrong billing codes — the case was marked as "inpatient" instead of "emergency."

And ventilator services were billed on the same day as admission — a potential violation of medical billing norms.

Using Claude's analysis, the man drafted firm legal letters to the hospital — pointing out every inconsistency and threatening legal action.

The hospital backed down.

Final bill: $33,000.

He saved over $1,62,000 — roughly ₹1.3 Crore — with a tool that costs him $20 a month.

His words:

"The hospital made up its own rules and prices, thinking it could take money from people who don't understand the system."

This isn't just a story about AI.

This is a story about information asymmetry.

Hospitals, insurance companies, and large institutions have always bet on one thing — that you won't understand the system.

AI is slowly changing that equation.

And the people who learn to use it will always have an edge.

Now here's where it gets relevant for you.

I made a video breaking down exactly how you can use AI for situations like this — medical bills, insurance claims, financial disputes — and I've also put together the exact prompt you can use yourself.

The tools exist. The knowledge is accessible.

The only question is — are you using them?
